Performance Standards & Expectations
Ensures clear, documented standards for trainer performance.
Standard
The center has clearly defined, documented, and communicated performance standards and expectations for trainers regarding preparation, delivery, use of training methodology, professionalism, trainee engagement, assessment, and contribution to training effectiveness.
Rationale
Clear standards set expectations for quality training delivery, provide a basis for fair evaluation, and guide trainers towards continuous improvement.
Evidence/Indicators
- Documented trainer performance standards/handbook or code of conduct.
- Examples of communication of standards (e.g., onboarding materials, training sessions, meeting minutes).
- Trainer contracts or agreements outlining performance expectations.
- Observation checklists or evaluation rubrics based on these standards.
Metrics
- % of trainers who confirm receipt and understanding of performance standards (e.g., signed acknowledgement, survey).
- Consistency score of performance standards application across different evaluators (if applicable).
- Frequency of standards review and update.
Performance Levels
- Non-Compliant (Inadequate): No clear performance standards exist or are unknown to trainers; feedback is ad hoc or absent.
- Developing (Needs Improvement): Standards are vague or informal; some trainers may be aware, but communication and feedback processes are inconsistent or irregular.
- Meets Standard (Satisfactory): Standards exist and are known by most trainers; feedback is provided occasionally but not consistently across all programs or trainers. Standards are documented but may not be fully integrated.
- Exceeds Standard (Very Good/Excellent): A comprehensive set of trainer performance standards is clearly defined, communicated, embedded in onboarding and development, and used regularly for structured feedback and growth. Standards are consistently applied and regularly reviewed/updated.
